Interview with Current Degree Student:
Kristie L. Prokop
After completing a BS and a MS in Mathematics at Montclair State, Kristie is continuing her studies in the Ed.D Mathematics Pedagogy program. She enjoys working with the Mathematical Sciences faculty in continuing her professional development as an educator in mathematics. She currently teaches at West Morris Mendham High School. Her main research interest is in the relationship between musical study and mathematics achievement. Kristie is actively involved in the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New Jersey (www.amtnj.org) and recently published an article in Academic Exchange Quarterly. The doctoral program provides her with opportunities to network with others who share the same passion for teaching mathematics. The doctoral program is well suited for students like Kristie who teach fulltime during the day and take classes in the evenings.
