Margaret and Herman Sokol Lectures
Through a generous donation from Margaret and Herman Sokol, the Sokol Lectures
has been established to help our faculty, students, and the surrounding communities
garner a greater appreciation and expanded knowledge of important issues in
the sciences. Beginning in the Fall of 2002, a speaker, per semester, of national
and international renown will be invited to spend a day at MSU meeting with
faculty and students, guest lecturing in a class, and conducting an evening seminar
open to the public. Speakers will be selected based on the strong interdisciplinary
appeal of their area of expertise and recognition in the public eye.

CSAM Seminar Series
The College of Science and Mathematics (CSAM) seminar series features national renowned scientists with inter-disciplinary, broad based
topics. For the Fall and Spring semesters, a speaker in each of the
five academic disiplines within CSAM is hosted per month for a total of
10 lectures. Lectures are usually scheduled on a Thursday at 4 p.m. and
are open to the Montclair and local communities (free of charge).

Departmental Seminars
The College of Science and Mathematics (CSAM) also offers departmental
seminars on a bi-weekly basis. The seminars are typically presented by
local scientist/experts and are discipline based. Check with department for schedule.
